Spotlight on Hestan Vineyards – An Anolon Artisan Partner
Hestan Vineyards is a boutique vineyard estate nestled on the remote eastern slopes of Napa Valley. Here, owners Stanley and Helen Cheng with the help of acclaimed winemakers Mark Herold and Jeff Gaffner produce their limited edition Hestan, Meyer and Stephanie wines. Each wine makes use of the classic red Bordeaux varietals planted to the estate and reflects the distinct site signature of the property.
Sustainably Grown Vines and Gardens
The estate vineyard is 100% hand-tended with a focus on both quality and sustainability. Each of the vineyard’s 21 individual blocks is custom farmed according the specific needs of the varietal and site. The entire estate is solar powered and the vines are irrigated using reclaimed mountain spring water that feeds the vineyard’s 11-acre lake.
Active supporters of the Slow Food Nation, the Chengs take great pride in their sustainable approach to grape growing and take great pleasure in pairing their Hestan, Meyer and Stephanie wines with farm-to-table meals prepared with the fresh produce grown in the estate’s organically farmed garden.
Food Pairing Tips from Winemaker Jeff Gaffner
To enhance your enjoyment of the recipes offered on our site, we’ve invited Hestan Vineyards’ winemaker Jeff Gaffner to share some tips on how to best pair food with wine.
“When I blend wine, I think of the different lots that I’m working with as a spice rack; allowing me to choose complimentary flavors and textures that bring harmony to the final blend. Pairing wine with food is very similar. Think of wine as a condiment… it should compliment the food and certainly not overpower it."
